Luxembourg's Customs and Excise Administration (ADA) has revealed that, at the end of August 2017, its officers intercepted 77.4 kg of Marihuana which had travelled from South Africa by air.

The intended destination of the consignment was Luxembourg. The truck, on which the consignment was loaded, did not reach the destination address of Luxembourg but changed its route.

After the interception, it turned out, in the course of the investigation conducted, that the drug was supposed to continue its route with a new destination of Britain. The sale value of the narcotics, seized by order of Luxembourg's public prosecutor, is around €650,000. An investigation has been opened.

In recent years there has been an increase in the THC content of cannabis herb. In Luxembourg, the trade, possession and consumption of marihuana are prohibited by law.
