On 2 July 2017, Fernand Etgen, Minister of Agriculture, Viticulture and Consumer Protection, awarded the "Prix du Jury" of the "Bio-Agrar-Präis" to Soleuvre-based "Eis Grocery Zolwer”.

The "Prix du Publuc" Audience Prize was awarded to "Bio-Lëtzebuerg - Vereenegung fir Bio-Landwirtschaft a.s.b.l." of Munsbach.

In his speech, Etgen paid tribute to the commitments of "Ecosol Sanem a.s.b.l." and "Episol Sanem s.coop." for their project "Eis Epicerie Zolwer", the first solidarity grocery store in Luxembourg where more than 1500 products from local, organic or sustainable produce are offered at a solidarity price for everyone.

In addition, Etgen honoured the initiative of "Bio-Lëtzebuerg - Vereenegung fir Bio-Landwirtschaft a.s.b.l." of Munsbach, for offering its members, producers and processors a private biological label. This label "Bio-Lëtzebuerg" refers to organic products of Luxembourg origin.

The novelty of this year, which is the competitions ninth year, was the presentation of a "Prix du Public" in addition to the usual "Prix du Jury". In order to select the winner of the "Prix du Jury", a jury composed of ten members from different backgrounds analysed the applications, whilst the winner of the "Prix du Public" was selected by the public at the Agricultural Fair in Ettelbruck.

The "Bio-Agrar-Präis", awarded for the first time in 2009, aims to reward merits in organic farming. This prize is awarded to 4000 € for individuals, organizations and companies active in the field of organic agriculture (production, processing, trade, research, NGOs, etc.) or who have given special support to organic farming in Luxembourg.
