On Tuesday 5 December 2017, more than 1,000 ICT professionals gathered at the Casino 2000 in Mondorf-les-Bains for the 11th edition of the Gala IT One; after a couple of presentations and a round table on the latest trends and challenges of the sector - the advent of IoT, the ongoing war for talent or the rise of security and risk management - the Luxembourg ICT Awards ceremony took place, to recognise the best practices and solutions of the year.

The ceremony started with the "Technologies & Solutions Awards".

Telindus won the IT Security Provider of the Year award. The company's security managed services are backed by the advantages of Cyber Security & Intelligence Operation Center (CSIOC) and Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CSIRT) and has a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity.

The IT Development Company of the Year prize then went to eProseedRTC. The members of the jury highlighted the fact that the solution enables organizations to self-assess their level of compliance with the GDPR, thanks to its comprehensive database of 350 regulatory requirements.

For its tailored and personalised cloud offer to answer the client’s needs, its "Made in Luxembourg" solution and its certified offer which benefits from an international reach, System Solutions was named Cloud Provider of the Year.

EBRC won the Managed Services Provider of the Year award. The company is able to provide high-performance infrastructures and Managed Services and has helped new businesses to develop their market in Europe. Last year, EBRC also strengthened its international reach.

Second award of the night for Telindus: the company was named Telecom Provider of the Year. Jury members notably highlighted the deployment of innovative convergent solutions under the "Telindus powered by Tango" brand and the fact that the services meet the regulation challenges including MIFID II.

The first part of the awards ceremony ended with CarPay Diem winning the Startup of the Year prize. Several well-established mobile application editors counting over 50 million users have expressed their interests to integrate the CarPay-Diem service. The platform is compatible with more than 85,000 fuel stations and growing.

After a first break, the "Business Awards" were distributed to the ICT professionals from Luxembourg.

The Outstanding ICT Contribution to Luxembourg award was given to Docler Holding, a multinational IT company counting more than 150 developers in Luxembourg, which developed and launched Hackathons and startups’ initiatives: it contributes to the development of the ICT industry through the recruitment every year of around 100 developers coming from all over Europe.

Orsys won the award of ICT Training Company of the Year, thanks to an advance industry knowledge with the expertise of more than 900 qualified trainers. The company has also created tailored trainings dedicated to new processes and tools of development.

For its adapted methodology allowing successful digital transformations and an entertaining and well-structured application, Deloitte Luxembourg was named ICT Strategic Advisor of the Year. The company has led 42 digital projects to help customers improve their business.

The coveted prize of ICT Company of the Year went to Fujitsu Luxembourg. The company has created its own methodology for Digital Transformation, based on 4 main pillars (Inspiration, Innovation, Experimentation and Optimisation) and has been organising co-creation workshops in Luxembourg to facilitate digital transformation.

Two Special Jury Awards were distributed to reward the ICT experts from Luxembourg. The members of the Jury named Econocom "Great Company to Work With" for the year 2017. The Jury then recognised the career of David Hagen, Head of IT Supervision and Support PFS: he was given the Lifetime Career Award. The prize was handed over by Jean-Luc Brach, CIO of the Year 2016.

The ICT Team of the Year prize went to Banque et Caisse d'Epargne de l'Etat Luxembourg. With SpeedInvest, BCEE became is the first retail bank in Luxembourg to launch an automated, digital "robo-advisor" investment product. This compliant solution is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and offers a digital and personalized investment to its customers.

Finally, Hocine Berrane, CIO of CALI Europe, was named CIO of the Year 2017. With more than 20 years of experience in the insurance, this strong team player always puts his people at the centre of his priorities. He also has a strong impact on the development of the local ICT community as well as the development of CALI and its digital transformation. The prestigious award was presented by former laureate Jean-Luc Brach and Joël Vanoverschelde, Partner at Deloitte Luxembourg.

Just like every year since the creation of the biggest ICT event in Luxembourg, the Gala ended with an after-party who allowed ICT experts to further discuss upcoming trends and share their good practices.
