At the invitation of the editor-in-chief of the Baden-Baden daily newspaper "Goodnews", Christian Frietsch, Luxembourg's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Immigration and Asylum, Jean Asselborn, will visit Baden-Baden tomorrow, Tuesday 8 May 2018, in order to receive the "Golden Heart of Europe" award.

The award, which aims each year to honour a personality for their commitment to serving European values, will be presented this year to the Minister Asselborn during the "11th Symposium Pierre Pflimlin", which takes its name from the famous French politician known for Franco-German reconciliation and the former President of the European Parliament, being held at the Brenners Park Hotel in Baden-Baden, an emblematic venue in which Konrad Adenauer and General De Gaulle launched Franco-German cooperation in February 1962. In 2017, the award was presented to Saarland Minister-President Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer.

Minister Asselborn will deliver a speech on the theme "Die neue Verantwortung Europas" in which he will deliver his analysis of the main challenges of European political news.
