Negotiations are ongoing between the Luxembourg trade unions ALEBA, OGBL-SBA and LCGB-SESF and the Luxembourg Bankers' Association (ABBL) for the renewal of the Collective Labour Agreement for Bank Employees.
At the meeting of 1 March 2018 between these trade unions and the ABBL, the latter referred to various new ideas and agreed to return in the following days to the trade unions with further details on them.
A comprehensive summary of their proposals was finally provided on Thursday 15 March. These elements, mainly related to the "Classification & Remuneration" component, were then discussed constructively at a meeting held the following day between the ALEBA, OGBL-SBA and LCGB- SESF and the ABBL.
More recently, on Tuesday 20 March, the trade unions met to examine these results and decided that whilst some convergence is possible, such as the creation of new function groups, they will make counterproposals to others submitted by the ABBL.
The next meeting has been scheduled for Thursday 29 March at 09:00. In order to maintain a calm atmosphere between the parties, the trade unions have decided to release no further comments regarding the content of the negotiations and the details of the items under discussion.
