Earlier this week, Deputy Prime Minister Étienne Schneider met with the heads of major American companies present in Luxembourg, in the United States.

During a working visit to the US, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Economy, Étienne Schneider, met the leaders of industrial companies based in Luxembourg whose parent company is located in the US, to discuss future development of their sites in the Grand Duchy.

On 14 May 2018, Étienne Schneider met the members of the management of the Guardian Group, which has a strong industrial footprint in Luxembourg with its two float glass production plants in Bascharage and Dudelange, as well as the European headquarters of the group. During the discussions, the future development of the Guardian's presence in Luxembourg was discussed.

The Deputy Prime Minister and the DuPont management in Wilmington, Delaware then discussed, on 17 May, the development of Tyvek fabric production activities in the US factory in Contern.

Following these meetings, Étienne Schneider said: "It is essential to maintain good relations with the senior managers of the parent companies of the industrial groups present in Luxembourg in order to keep them informed of the assets of the Grand Duchy as a land of investment. We help to ensure the sustainability of existing production sites and we encourage the development of new activities of these companies in Luxembourg."
