Toastmasters International (Luxembourg and North-East of France areas) is organising a Luxembourg Toastmasters Leadership Institute on Saturday 27 January 2018 from 10:00 - 18:00 at the Youth Hostel (2 Rue du Fort Olisy, L-2261 Luxembourg-ville).
Toastmasters International (TI) is a USA headquartered non-profit educational organisation that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of helping members improve their communication, public speaking, and leadership skills. Through its thousands of member clubs, Toastmasters International offers a program of communication and leadership projects designed to help people learn the arts of speaking, listening, and thinking. Throughout its history, Toastmasters has served over four million people, and today the organization serves over 352,000 members in 141 countries, through its 16,400 member clubs. There are eight English Speaking clubs and four French-speaking clubs in Luxembourg and the North-East of France.
A Toastmasters Leadership Institute (TLI) is an exceptional public event aimed at showcasing Toastmasters and providing interactive communication, public speaking and leadership training. The 27 January Luxembourg TLI targets an audience around 100 attendees, with roughly half of the attendance coming from within the organisation and the other half being guests.
The event will start at 10:00 with welcome coffee and pastries. At 10:30 a 1 ½ hour demonstration Toastmasters meeting will start, including prepared speeches, improvisations and evaluations. Lunch will be provided by the Youth Hostel (with a vegetarian option) from noon to 13:00. From 13:00 until 18:00, a series of 3 x 2 parallel interactive workshops will be offered covering themes including how to conduct and win a debate, evaluating to motivate people, exploiting the power of one’s voice, tips and tricks from the world of modelling to feel comfortable on stage and how to start and conclude an effective speech. From 18:00 until 18:30, awards will be given to the winners of the debate and a keynote speech will be delivered by a Luxembourg leader. This event is bilingual with speeches and workshops delivered in English and French.
The full price for the event is €30 and covers all workshops during the day, lunch, coffee breaks and snacks. €25 “speedy bird” tickets are on sale until 1 January.
