Save One Life Helps Kenyan Haemophiliac Pursue Career Dreams

Luxembourg-based organisation Save One Life has helped yet another young haemophiliac pursue their career aspirations despite their disability.

25-year-old John Mueni Wambua from Kenya has graduated as an interior designer with the help of Save One Life, an international NGO based in Luxembourg which provides direct financial assistance to children suffering from haemophilia and living in poverty.

With the charity’s support, John Mueni Wambua, who suffers from severe haemophilia, has been able to overcome his difficult upbringing and become a fully qualified interior designer focusing on disability access. He also competes in wheelchair racing.

Save One Life, founded in 2001, currently partners with bleeding disorder patient organisations in 13 developing countries and supports more than 1,500 children and youth through its sponsorship, scholarship and micro-enterprise grant programmes.

In 2009, Kenya became a programme country of Save One Life. At present there are 43 sponsored beneficiaries and four scholarship recipients with the Jose Memorial Haemophilia Society, based in Nairobi.
