Today, the Luxembourg Minister of Cooperation and Humanitarian Action, Romain Schneider, signed six framework development agreements aimed at strengthening support to NGOs.

Minister Romain Schneider has signed six framework development agreements with the following non-governmental development organisations (NGDOs): Action pour un monde uni, Frères des Hommes Luxembourg, Guiden a Scouten fir eng Welt, Handicap International Luxembourg, Pharmaciens sans frontières and Unity Foundation.

These 6 framework agreements represent a total contribution from the Ministry of Cooperation of €22,732,495.07 covering the period 2018-2022, thus bringing the number of framework agreements in progress to 25 and involving a total of 24 NGDOs.

Geographically, the activities of the framework agreements are located in 17 countries in Africa and 7 countries in the Middle East and Asia.

Moreover, the activities that NGDOs will implement with co-financing from the Ministry focus on the following themes: drinking water supply and sanitation, rural development, quality education, education and training for employment, education for a better quality of life for young people and adults, training of health personnel, basic health infrastructure, citizen participation, functional rehabilitation, research in education, capacity building, security and food sovereignty, health and prevention, basic health care and services.

It should also be noted that framework agreements are based on a coherent, results-oriented programme approach aimed at concentrating resources for maximum impact on the ground.
