The 2018 edition of the annual Caritas Challenge, under the theme “Fly to a better future”, will begin next month.

With the arrival of May comes the annual Caritas Luxembourg campaign for children in need in the Grand Duchy. The figures on the subject are enlightening: today in Luxembourg, 22% of children are exposed to poverty, which is little more than one in five children. If a child is living in a single-parent family, the possibility of experiencing poverty is almost one in two.

For many years, Caritas Luxembourg has been working with and for those children who do not have the same opportunities as others. Many Caritas Luxembourg professionals and volunteers are constantly committed to guiding, supporting and improving their daily lives, offering summer camps, day centres, reception and support structures and social grocery stores for disadvantaged families.

In total, nearly 14,000 people (children, young people and parents) benefit each year from Caritas Luxembourg services for children and young people.

To continue all these activities and give the poor children the means to take flight towards a brighter future, Caritas Luxembourg calls for generosity. Donations can be made via bank transfer to the account (CCPL) IBAN LU34 1111 0000 2020 0000 with the statement "Caritas Challenge". It is also possible to donate online at www.caritas.lu.
