Caritas Luxembourg last Friday invited all its volunteers to a party in their honour.

Currently, a few hundred volunteers are working alongside Caritas Luxembourg. They have so far heled out in various initiatives, from school support and homework help for children, adult language support courses and support for job-seeking refugees to the reception of homeless people during the "Wanteraktioun" or at the social bistro "Le Courage", helping at the sales stand organisation during events such as the Oktavmäertchen, the reception of people in need in social groceries and administrative assistance or the organisation of recreational activities.

In her speech, Marie-Josée Jacobs, President of Caritas Luxembourg, returned to the essential touch of humanity that volunteers bring to the work of Caritas Luxembourg, beyond their skills. She then thanked them on behalf of all beneficiaries of Caritas Luxembourg's assistance, as well as on behalf of all employees, for their commitment and support.

Finally, families who benefited from the volunteers’ help showed their gratitude by preparing the party meal. Each participant then left with a thank-you gift.
