On Monday 2 July 2018, private school Notre-Dame Sainte-Sophie donated a dehydrator to the Autism Foundation Luxembourg.

In collaboration with the restaurant La Pomme Cannelle (at Hotel Le Royal) and the Provençale, the class of CM2 D of the Notre-Dame Sainte-Sophie French private school presented a dehydrator to the Autism Foundation Luxembourg as well as a basket of seasonal fruits and cooking recipes.

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Notre-Dame Sainte-Sophie school, the focus was on the arts to mark this important date. In an original way, Ms. Durbize and Mr. Mellinger chose the culinary arts. This project, with a class of 20 motivated students aged 10-11 in the CM2 D class, led them to initiate a collaboration and finalise their project within La Pomme Canelle. Without knowing it, the fruit of their commitment and their small dishes, which were served to the parents as well as to the customers of the restaurant on 8 June 2018, made it possible to support the Autism Foundation.

The Autism Foundation Luxembourg (FAL), founded in March 1994 and placed under the High Patronage of Her Royal Highness the Grand Duchess since April 2018, aims to promote and defend the rights of people with autism in Luxembourg, regardless of the severity of their disability. Since its creation, the Foundation has helped more than 100 people with autism and their families at three different sites: Munshausen, Rambrouch and Capellen. Autism affects 1 in 100 people and it is estimated that 6,000 people suffer from autism in Luxembourg.
