Last Friday 20 July 2018, Caritas Luxembourg welcomed Archbishop Jean-Claude Hollerich of Luxembourg to meet some of the charity's beneficiaries and discover its projects.

As part of this visit, the Archbishop met with residents of the intergenerational "Doheem mateneen" residence in Beggen. This residence is home to vulnerable people and students. They offer small services to the elderly with loss of autonomy, in return for a moderate rent. Similarly, Archbishop Jean-Claude Hollerich visited the social bistro "Le Courage" which allows homeless people to spend a few hours during the day in a protected place without constraints. The project is conducted in collaboration with the City of Luxembourg.

Finally, the Archbishop visited the Creamisu workshop, a space dedicated to artistic expression of all kinds: painting, music, composition, singing, etc. that allows people in precarious situations to break with the monotony of their daily life and above all to express themselves. The pilot project was launched thanks to the support of the Oeuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte. Today, the project is supported by the Ministry of Health and several donors.

The afternoon visits thus allowed the Archbishop to talk to many beneficiaries of Caritas Luxembourg's support, including people living in precarious situations, homeless people, refugees and young people, who confirmed the usefulness of these projects.
