The success of this year's E Stopp fir e Mupp initiative has permitted the sponsorship of an eighth service dog at the ASA association.

In 2018, the solidarity action E Stopp fir e Mupp, organised by the Amicale vun der Schoul fir Assistenzhonn (ASA) and supported by Valorlux, led to the sponsorship of the golden retriever Love. This eighth service dog joins Eden, Fleya, Fallon, Holly, Idyll, Illucia and Javotte in providing emotional support for people with specific needs.

For nearly ten years, the ASA association has collaborated with Valorlux and the company Hein Déchets on its E Stopp fir e Mupp initiative, in which many institutions, schools, corporations and individuals across the country have participated.

By collecting the plastic lids of beverage bottles such as fruit juices, water, sodas or milk, participants in the E Stopp fir e Mupp action can actively participate in the sorting and collection of waste products and packaging and funding the training and sponsorship of service dogs as well as animal-assisted therapies.

Thanks to this year's initiative, Love, a beautiful golden retriever, was able to enter the Maredoc Integrated Centre for Seniors in Heisdorf. Every day, he now accompanies Martine Didier to work where they can provide support to over a hundred people.

Over 180 partners, municipalities, schools, companies and individuals have contributed to the action and this year, the action helped to collect 52.3 tonnes of lids. This represented an amount of €15,690 worth of sponsorship. Representatives of Varlorlux and Hein Déchets presented the cheque to the Maredoc centre last Friday 16 November 2018.
