Cactus has collected €9,199 from the sale of its own-brand orange juice for UNICEF-Luxembourg.

Laurent Schonckert, managing director of the Cactus group, presented a cheque for the sum, collected in 2018 through the sale of Cactus orange juice, to UNICEF-Luxembourg. The funds will support UNICEF's "Schools for Asia" education project.

For each one-litre carton of own-brand orange juice sold, Cactus agreed to pay 10 cents to UNICEF-Luxembourg. The proceeds will help ensure that Bangladesh's children have access to education and better prospects for the future. In Bangladesh, nearly 5 million children have to work to support their families. Some are completely alone and work for their own survival. UNICEF thus supports schools that take into account the special living conditions of these children so that they can learn to read, write and calculate. Older children can take professional training in sewing, embroidery, motorcycle repair, language and accounting.

Sandra Visscher, director of UNICEF-Luxembourg, commented: "Education can not only improve the life of a child, but society as a whole. Thus, it provides children with basic skills, contributes to their health and empowers girls and young women. We are pleased to be able to count on the support of Cactus who, through the sale of its solidarity juice, supports our education projects every year around the world and improves the lives of thousands of children."
