Cercle Cité is set to glow for one night on 11 November 2017 in a black, red and gold ambiance to set the stage for the 5th Anniversary Celebration Masquerade Ball of Make-A-Wish® Luxembourg.

This November, the public will have the opportunity to don masks at the Make-A-Wish charity event to grant the wishes of children.

Besides enjoying the masquerade gala itself, participants will also contribute to the fulfilment of wishes for children between the ages of 3 and 18 years old with life-threatening medical conditions. Make-A-Wish® grants a child’s dearest wish, and has fulfilled 20 local wishes since their launch in Luxembourg in late 2012.

Surprises will await both inside and outside the venue, and special entertainment will add to the ambiance of this extravagant evening. During the reception, ensemble Quatricina will set a Renaissance tone as wandering jugglers and crystal ball performers mystify the crowd, joined later by some special guests.

Following a four-course dinner, with a menu created by French caterer Marcotullio, a special DJ will spin tunes until 2:00.  The popular casino will also be open (with casino cash provided), as well as themed cocktails and a Venetian selfie photo booth.

Perhaps the highlight of the event is the auction, where prizes donated by companies and individuals are awarded to the highest bidder, with all proceeds going to Make-A-Wish® for future wishes. Some of the live auction prizes include: breakfast with Prime Minister Bettel, events at the British and Austrian Embassies, an outing with An American in Luxembourg, a private lesson in a CargoLux Jumbo 747 Flight Simulator, a photograph by Christophe Van Biesen, private wine tasting & tapas and signed sports items, including a jersey by cyclist Frank Schleck, a cap from Formula One World Champion Niko Rosberg, and a National Italian rugby team jersey and a Luxembourg national football team jersey. Jim Kent will be Master of Ceremonies, accompanied by Eldoradio DJ Andy Pawlikowski.

Helping to make the Gala event possible are this year’s sponsors Twenty First Capital, TMF Group and ArcelorMittal.

The gala is currently sold out, pending incoming payments and a waiting list is forming. Those wishing to be on the waiting list should email: events@make-a-wish.lu. Tickets cost €125 per person, and tables of 10 can register for the price of 9 at €1125.

Make-A-Wish® Luxembourg has expressed its hopes to raise a sizable donation for their cause, exceeding the €27,700 raised at last year’s Winter Wonderland event.
