The Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) has announced that the Conservatoire is hosting a charity concert to conclude the celebrations of the 175th anniversary of the Grand-Ducal Military Music and the 50th anniversary of the Volontariat with the Luxembourg Army organised for the Foundation of the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess, on Wednesday 31 January 2016 at 20:00.

This 30th edition of the annual charity concert will feature the Concert Band of the Grand-Ducal Military Band which will premiere works by Ferrer Ferran, Bert Appertmont and Franz Waxman with the participation of trombonist Jacques Mauger and violinist Lidia Kochoryan.

In the second part of the concert, the musicians will perform a world premiere of the composition "Clash" written by Pol Belardi for big bands and orchestras. This work is a special order from the Ministry of Culture. Next will be works by Louis Dowdeswell and Guido Rennert.

Major Jean-Claude Braun, Chief of Military Music Grand-Ducale, will conduct the orchestra.

This charity concert is organised by the Ville de Luxembourg, the Luxemboug City Tourist Office, the Luxemburgish Army and the A.s.b.l. "Of Fren vun der Militärmusek".

At the end of the concert, a fundraising event is organised in favour of the Foundation of the Grand Duke and the Grand Duchess.
