Lola Marie & Les Chats Noirs will perform a concert on Tuesday 10 October 2017 at 20:00 at the Théâtre Municipal in Esch-sur-Alzette.

“Lola Marie & Les Chats Noirs” evoke with the “roaring twenties”: a bittersweet period in which vaudeville shows, cabarets and underground clubs were highly popular. Their nostalgic concert show invites the public to lean back and enjoy memories of an unforgettable era, which started at Montmartre in Paris in 1881, when the world-famous cabaret “Le Chat Noir” had been established by Rodolphe Salis.

A thrilling concert show; at times romantic, witty, exhilarant and spicy, with a couple of unexpected twists. The colorful programme includes the work of Hanns Eisler, Kurt Weill, Jaques Brel, Marlene Dietrich, Zarah Leander, Hildegard Knef, Liza Minnelli, songs from musical comedies, as well as French and German chansons from 1881 (Paris) to 1939 (Berlin).

Cynthia Knoch created the ensemble “Lola Marie & Les Chats Noirs" together with a bunch of passionate musicians, after graduating in 2011 as an opera singer and receiving with distinction her “master of music”. The project persists an ordeal because, at the same time André Rieu invited her to join his Johann Strauss Orchestra for worldwide concert tours and tv shows. An unforgettable and exciting journey...

Now back in Luxembourg she created (in 2017) the non-profit organisation Lola Marie Entertainment a.s.b.l. After a concert series in Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands, she feels delighted to share her passion for music and theatre with the Luxembourgish public. Furthermore she has announced that their new CD, which has been supported by FOCUNA, will be released in October 2017.

The full-length album includes two own compositions as well as songs from Kurt Weill, Hanns Eisler, Michel Legrand, Peter Kreuder, Rina Ketty, Zarah Leander, Jaques Brel and Edith Piaf.
