The Christmas party of the charity Stëmm vun der Strooss will be benefiting from an extra €8,000 thanks to a cheque awarded to the organisation by international law firm Allen & Overy.

For the fourth consecutive year, the law firm will be supporting Stëmm vun der Strooss as an associative partner for the traditional SVDS Christmas festivities taking place on Thursday 17 December 2015 at the Bonnevoie cultural centre.

In addition to this financial aid and on the initiative of the Pro Bono & CSR committee, 10 members of the firm will also be providing help at the Christmas party itself, which 400 people in need are expected to attend. This year, they will be managing activity stands for children and a cloakroom.

The Stëmm vun der Strooss 2015 Christmas party has received support from several organisations from around Luxembourg, including €3,500 from the Thierry van Werveke Foundation in November and a further €5,000 from Dippech hëlleft and Kleiderborse Capellen.

In 2014, a total of 68,065 lunches were provided to 2,465 people at the association's eating establishments in Hollerich and Esch-sur-Alzette. 108 tonnes of food were freely distributed there, 26 people were rehoused through the Immo Stemm project and 146 people took part in various reintegration workshops at five sites across Luxembourg, Esch-sur-Alzette and Schoenfels.
