Irish soprano Celine Byrne is in Luxembourg this week-end for a Saturday evening fund-raising concert at the Centre Culturel Scheiss in the Val Ste Vroix in aid of Think Pink Lux, a local charity that supports women with cancer and their families; on Friday evening the Ambassador of Ireland to Luxembourg, Peadar Carpenter, hosted a reception at the Irish Embassy.
Ambassador Carpenter thanked Celine Byrne for coming over to Luxembourg especially for the fund-raising concert and said that almost every family has someone who has, or who has had, cancer.
Celine Byrne thanked Amb Carpenter for hosting the reception and stated how delighted she is to be in the Grand Duchy to support the wonderful charity that is Think Pink Lux.
Carrie Cannon talked with The Luxembourg Chronicle and explained that the money raised from Saturday evening's concert will go towards a new research project with the Luxembourg Institute of Health into metastasis in breast cancer.
