Total Luxembourg has managed to raise €15,000 for the Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner through the sale of 'Poldi on Tour' calendars in gas stations throughout the company's network of petrol stations in the Grand Duchy.

The two parties first launched a photo contest in July 2015, inviting individuals to send snapshots of the Fondatioun's mascot, Poldi, on holiday. A jury then selected pictures to illustrate the 12 months of a calendar for 2016. This was subsequently sold in Total petrol stations, and all the proceeds donated to the foundation.

Total Luxembourg has acted as a partner for the Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner since 2012, financially supporting the association in its aim to help families with a child dealing with cancer or a life-threatining pathology. The partnership has since involved several sales projects, including the comic strip 'Les aventures de Mr Sympa' ('The Adventures of Mr. Nice') in 2014, which was developed and designed by 2014 Oscar winner for Best Animated Short, Alex Espigares.

"We welcome the choice of Total Luxembourg to fund, thanks to their generous donation, some of the transport costs for seriously ill children," commented Anne Goeres, Director of Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner. "In effect, the treatment of serious illness requires multiple trips abroad and some routes are not reimbursed by the CNS. This is why the foundation offers families these specific trips by taxi, particularly for test consultations. This gives parents the opportunity to be closer to their children who are often distressed."

Total Luxembourg thanked the customers and personnel who participated in the action and helped raise the funds.
