The Green Hearts Toastmasters Cliub, founded in February 1996 with its twenty-odd members, celebrated twenty years of its existence last week on Monday.

As is customary with Toastmasters meetings, and Green Hearts meetings in particular, it was a veritable feast for communicators and leaders alike. To kick things off, the President of the club opened the meeting and the word of the day, “Framily” was presented by Carlo and adopted by one and all during the course of this, exceptional, dinner meeting.

Oana churned out interesting topics that also had the merit of being concise and clear, and got the most interesting and in some cases, unexpected, and very profound responses.

The two speeches delivered by Andy and Kuba were also thought-provoking, pertinent and persuasive to say the least. The evaluations given by Stuart and Stefanie were sweet and succinct and in Bernadette’s leadership, Viviane, Ana Rita and Jelena did well to shine whilst pictures were taken to capture the huge amounts of fun that everyone had as would a huge Framily.

The meeting was the image of success and the result of the storm of new measures that have been introduced and implemented over the years. The principal aim being to push the membership to yet unforeseen levels of excellence in terms of numbers actively participating in the club meetings, but also constantly improving themselves. With the latter in mind, this club's “How-to” sessions came into being during this Toastmering year, which became the platform where best practices in communication were brought to the fore and where tips and tricks were taken away and have been put to good use in many a project ever since as speeches are fine-tuned whilst aiming to craft and deliver as perfect a speech as possible.

The Green Hearts Club leadership has taken many a step, especially during the past year, to achieve the pinnacles of leadership success whilst ensuring coherent and efficient grassroots work to inspire an active, constructive and supportive atmosphere, where the members can grow and learn together. They meet every first and third Monday of the month and hold their How-to sessions on the 2nd Monday at the Chambre de Commerce.
