On Saturday 28 June 2025, Luxembourg-based organisation WeSTEM+ (Women Excel In STEM) celebrated the Second BI Academy Graduation Ceremony at the Digital Learning Hub in Luxembourg in Esch-Belval.

The ceremony, described by the organisers as “showcasing the future of data talent in Luxembourg”, marked the completion of the academy’s second edition – a twelve‑week Business Intelligence programme created to empower non‑technical women and members of under‑represented groups to transition into the tech sector.

During the ceremony, the academy’s 20 participants presented their projects, demonstrating practical solutions to real‑world business challenges and showcasing the skills and knowledge they had gained during the programme.

Attendees also heard from the BI Academy’s jury, which consisted of experienced professionals who guided, mentored and evaluated the students throughout their journey.

Senior Digital Policy Advisor at the Department of Media, Connectivity and Digital Policy at Luxembourg’s Ministry of State, Claudine Kariger, said: “Initiatives like the BI Academy are essential for opening doors to data careers - especially for women and underrepresented groups. They make our digital workforce stronger, more skilled and more diverse.”

Deputy Managing Director at the Digital Learning Hub, Marco D’Amico, noted: “At the Digital Learning Hub, supporting and co-organising an initiative like the BI Academy is at the core of our mission to make digital skills accessible to all. Being part of the jury is a meaningful way for us to contribute. Data-related training is among the most in-demand at the Digital Learning Hub, reflecting both strong market needs and a key opportunity for professional development.”

Senior Azure Specialist at Microsoft Luxembourg, Irina Neagu Muceli, remarked: “I am humbled and honoured to serve as a juror and trainer for the BI Academy programme. It is inspiring to see the enthusiasm and dedication of the participants in this career shift programme. I am proud to give back to the IT community that has provided me with so many opportunities for growth.“

Head of Sector - Excellence in AI & Robotics, at the European AI Office, Evangelia Markidou, added: “As a tech enthusiast and someone deeply committed to innovation and human potential, I'm thrilled to support the BI Academy's mission of democratising tech education. The BI Academy doesn't just teach technical skills; it builds confidence, creates community and opens doors to entirely new career possibilities for those willing to take a bold step forward.”

WeSTEM+ reported that the BI Academy initiative remained tuition‑cost free, thanks to the support of Innovative Initiatives, part of the Department of Media, Connectivity and Digital Policy (SMC) of Luxembourg’s Ministry of State, as well as the Digital Learning Hub and that “together they reinforced a shared commitment to fostering digital inclusion and professional empowerment”.
