The Women of Europe association, represented by the head of the Luxembourg group Christiane Baldauff, Anne-Marie Micho and Manette Weitzel donated €8,000 to Stëmm vun der Strooss, thanks to which the NGO was able to acquire 111 sleeping bags and floor mats which were distributed on 27 April.
The donation has enabled Stëmm to meet a strong demand in sleeping bags where people are forced to sleep outside when temperatures are still close to 0°C. The organisation has accordingly purchased equipment that can withstand temperatures below -5°C.
Christiane Baldauff, who has been involved with Stëmm von der Strooss for several years, said she was very touched by this situation. She explained that since its creation in 1976, the Association of Women of Europe a.i.s.b.l. has distributed nearly €9 million to support projects in Europe and in developing countries.
