The Ville de Luxembourg (VdL) and the Just Arrived Ambassadors Club (JAAClub) have joined forces to provide a joint weekly support service for new residents in Luxembourg.

From 26 September 2017, the newcomers welcome desk will be held every Tuesday from 8:30 to 11:00, with the exception of school holidays, in the Integration and Special Needs Service offices of the VdL.

The purpose of the support service is to facilitate the installation and integration of new residents in Luxembourg City. The JAAClub ambassadors, backed up by the employees of the Integration and Special Needs service, will guide newcomers in finding information and offering useful tips to get settled in their new surroundings.

The ambassador is a Luxembourgish resident, with foreign origins, willing to share their integration experience with people who have recently arrived in Luxembourg and to provide a human support in the process of settling in their new country.

Furthermore, starting in October 2017, the VdL the JAAClub are proposing free monthly integration events for newcomers to promote a human intercultural exchange and contact between citizens.

These two-hour meetings will take place in three cultural institutions of the City (Lëtzebuerg City Museum, Villa Vauban, Cinémathèque) and will consist of a 30-minute tour of the venue, a presentation of the joint actions carried out by the VdL and JAAClub and a networking session driven by intercultural games. The overall objective is to facilitate encounters, the outreach to the local intercultural community and ultimately the creation of a personal support network for the newcomer.
