Luxembourg's Ministry of the Economy has annoiunced that the second edition of the Asteroid Science Intersections with In-Space Mine Engineering conference (ASIME 2018) will take place in Luxembourg on Monday 16 April (from 09:30) and Tuesday 17 April 2018 at the University of Luxembourg in Esch-Belval (Maison du Savoir, Room 3330, 2 avenue de l'Université, L-4365 Esch-sur-Alzette).

- Marc Schiltz, Executive Head of the National Research Fund (FNR)
- Patrick Michel, Senior Researcher, Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur, National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS)

ASIME 2018 is supported by the Ministry of the Economy, the University of Luxembourg, the National Research Fund, LIST and Europlanet.

On Monday, the opening remarks will be delivered by Étienne Schneider, Yves Elsen, Marc Schiltz and Patrick Michel. Building on the success of the first ASIME conference organized in 2016 in Luxembourg, the event aims to produce a layered record of discussions between asteroid scientists and the companies in the context of the engineering and scientific needs of space missions for exploration and subsequent use of space resources.

The two-day workshop will draw approximately 90 participants from all over the world. ASIME 2018 will focus on the topic of asteroid composition.
