This Thursday Equilibre organised their first public speaking workshop in Luxembourg under the aegis of My Pledge.

The event was organized in collaboration with Dirk Daenen, Ted X Curator and Dean of UBI University and KPMG, and is their first workshop focusing on the participant's public speaking talents. For this event, 20 women met for a full day at KPMG to perfect their expertise in the field.

The success of the event lies in the relaxed atmosphere that encapsulated it with women hailing from varying professions such as finance, law, insurance and not-for-profit organisations. They were able to learn the best practices of the Ted X presentation format and practice in small groups.

In the preamble, Larissa Best, director of Equilibre, stressed the importance of having a female representation at conferences and not only in the audience, but specifically as speakers. "This workshop is part of the My Pledge initiative, launched in April 2018. My Pledge aims to promote diversity at public forums, conferences and events in Luxembourg and beyond," said Larissa Best. With several major companies and organizers of Luxembourg conferences already signatories, Docler Holding being the most recent, Equilibre offers their members access to its database of almost 300 experts. And so, 20 of them were able to benefit from this first workshop.

Due to popular demand, Equilibre will hold a second workshop for 20 people on 11 October 2018 for a full-day in collaboration with Atoz.

Equilibre is constantly looking for women who wish to improve their speaking skills and invites all those who are interested in speaking at events and conferences to join the My Pledge group on Linkedin, where opportunities to speak are regularly shared.
