Luxembourg will be hosting the 25th Annual Conference of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) on 8 and 9 Novemer 2018 at the Conference Centre in Kirchberg..

Later this week, the Insurance Commission, the supervisory authority of the insurance sector, will welcome the prestigious annual IAIS conference to Luxembourg. Founded in 1994, the Basel-based IAIS is made up of supervisors and insurance regulators from more than 200 jurisdictions representing 97% of insurance premiums worldwide.

IAIS members meet annually at the Annual Conference to discuss with insurance and reinsurance industry professionals on important current issues affecting the industry. In keeping with its principle of rotation between geographical areas, the annual conference returns for its 25th edition on the European continent, to the Grand Duchy.

This jubilee conference is expected to bring together nearly 500 participants from around the world to discuss the topic "Re-imagining Insurance". The insurance industry is currently facing profound changes in its environment under the influence of economic, technological, societal, environmental and political factors. These new challenges will have an impact on the behavior of the industry in the medium and long term but also on the work of the supervisors of the insurance sector who must start preparing for it now.
