The Creative Europe Desk Culture Luxembourg and the European Institute of Cultural Routes are organising conferences on sustainable networking and financing cultural heritage in Europe, taking place on 3 December from 14:00-18:00 and 4 December from 09:00-13:00 at the Abbaye de Neumünster.

As the European Year of Cultural Heritage (EYCH) comes to an end and before the closing ceremony in Vienna on 6 and 7 December 2018, the organisers wish to address the issue of sustainable support for cultural heritage in Europe.

The Creative Europe programme has funded numerous cultural heritage projects and networks and a special call has been published for the European Year 2018.

Launched by the Council of Europe in 1987, the Cultural Routes demonstrate, via a journey through space and time, how the heritage of different European countries and cultures contributes to a shared and living cultural heritage. Today, 33 Cultural Routes certified by the Council of Europe crisscross the continent and 32 countries are members of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes.

In order to highlight the potential for European networking and funding as well as the legacy of the European Year of Cultural Heritage, the Creative Europe Desk Culture - Luxembourg and the European Institute of Cultural Routes, as well as representatives from the European Commission, the Council of Europe and Europa Nostra, will delve deeper into three major themes in the panels: sustainable investment: financing cultural heritage in Europe's regions; anticipate needs and challenges: towards sustainable management of cultural heritage projects; how to combine efforts for sustainable support: fostering European synergies.

The detailed programme will be published in the coming days.

Admission is free but all participants are required to register for the event. Tickets can be booked at https://heritage-for-future.eventbrite.com.
