The CCA (Contrôles, Chantiers et Autorisations) service has carried out safety checks on 164 different companies and issued 119 injunctions since its foundation on 1 June 2018.

Launched by the Inspection du travail et des mines (ITM) as part of its mission to prevent occupational risks and protect health and safety in the construction sector, the CCA (English: "controls, building sites and authorisations") service is aimed at reinforcing the promotion of a culture of prevention, awareness and information on safety and health in the workplace among companies and employees in the construction sector who are most exposed to the risks of work accidents.

The main mission of this service is thus to carry out year-long controls on working conditions, occupational safety and health, secondment of employees and establishments classified on temporary mobile work sites. As well as ensuring compliance with labour law and safe labour standards, the service aims to spread awareness among employers, employees and health and safetyrepresentatives in a sustainable manner and thus continuously reduce the number of workplace accidents and occupational diseases. In addition, the reduction of irregularities in terms of working conditions and occupational health and safety contributes to the quality, efficiency, productivity, success and increased competitiveness of enterprises in the Grand Duchy.

Since 1 June 2018, the labour inspectors of the above-mentioned service have carried out checks on occupational health and safety among employees and establishments, featuring 164 enterprises and 390 employees on 123 temporary or mobile work sites in the construction sector. Following these controls, 119 injunctions were put in place to prevent situations that did not comply with the legal and regulatory provisions concerning work and occupational health and safety. This in turn led to 67 companies having been regularised and 56 files currently being regularised.

Following the site closures that were pronounced by the ITM for reasons of violations of the legal health and safety work provisions, two companies considered that they did not have to respect the injunctions of the ITM and were thus subject to an administrative fine of €25,000 each.
