The International Bazaar, whose annual event took place at Luxexpo last November 2014, was a great financial success.

Besides the many projects supported through the joint commitment of all the volunteers stands that raised funds by selling national products, this year the International Bazaar, in an unprecedented move, has made a significant donation to Médecins sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) to help Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

This independent organisation provides medical assistance to populations in distress, without any discrimination on the base of race, religion, creed or politics.

The lives of Syrian refugees in southern Lebanon is extremely precarious. €15,000 will enable mothers to give birth with dignity thanks to a neo-natal clinic set up by Médecins sans Frontières in the districts of Hasbaya and Marjaayoun, purchase the necessary medical equipment for maternity and cover part of the costs of wages for midwives for a period of 6 months. Despite the poverty, it is an investment for the future.

The International Bazaar committee presented a cheque for €15,000 to Janet Steinmetzer, Major Donors and Partnerships Manager of Médecins sans Frontières, who warmly thanked them for this collective engagement.
