Luxembourgish has been revealed as the common language of three quarters of the population of the Grand Duchy.

According to a recent TNS Ilres survey, 60% of respondents cited the national language as their first language of integration, whilst more than 70% claimed to speak the three official languages (Luxembourgish, French and German), or even four or more languages.

Meanwhile, Luxembourgish appeared to be a language shared by a very large part of the population: in their daily private life, 73% of those surveyed speak Luxembourgish and 65% write it. In addition, 92% of young people surveyed said they speak the three official languages.

Among language skills, French stood out with 98% of respondents claiming to speak the language.
