In the context of International Women's Day, neimënster is hosting a cultural and feminist party this Sunday 10 March 2019, from 11:30.

This year, the International Women's Day action platform (JIF2019) will focus on solidarity with women on strike on 8 March to push their demands across Europe. In addition to this strike, neimënster and the JIF will organise a huge cultural and feminist festival this weekend on the site of the abbey.

For the past 5 years, neimënster has been a part of the JIF platform and has made its site available to 22 associations in Luxembourg that are active in the field of women's rights. This year, for the first time, each association will offer a debate, round table or film screening as part of the upcoming feminist party. Luxembourg public figures including Mady Delvaux and Carole Dieschbourg will attend the event.

Celebrations will begin with a Jazz Aperitif featuring Criss Cross, a group created by the trumpet player Yazz Ahmed. The event will end with Danish comedian Sophie Hagen's show, which will also kick off the Humour for Peace festival. The comedian will use the stage as therapy to address the themes of depression, childhood traumas and positive body movements for the acceptance and appreciation of all types of human bodies.
