The Luxembourg Ministry of Culture has launched a call for artists-in-residence in Berlin and Paris.

The Ministry of Culture has signed an agreement with the international cultural centre "Künstlerhaus Bethanien" in Berlin for the residency of artists in the field of visual arts. This will take place from July to December 2018 and the call is addressed to any Luxembourg artist or resident in the Grand Duchy.

A work studio and a monthly allowance will be made available to the selected artist, who will be supervised during the residency by the cultural centre team and will be introduced to the art scene in Berlin. At the end of his residency he/she will be able to organise an exhibition in the premises of the "Künstlerhaus Bethanien" and to present his/her artistic project to curators, gallerists and artists as well as to the general public.

A jury in Luxembourg will make a pre-selection and a jury, appointed by officials in Berlin, will make the final choice. The deadline for submitting applications is 28 February 2018.

Likewise, a call has been launched for artists-in-residence for the period from October to December 2018 at the Cité internationale des arts de Paris. This residence has been organised since the sixties and each year allows selected artists accommodation at a workshop-housing at the Cité internationale des arts de Paris. The deadline for applications is 30 March 2018.

Details of both offers can be consulted in the call for applications on the website of the Ministry of Culture (www.gouvernement.lu/mc) and on culture.lu.
