At the 2017 World Mixed Championship in Curling currently being held in Champéry (Switzerland), the Luxembourg team lost its opening three games on Sunday.

Kazakhstan-Luxembourg 8-3; Korea-Luxembourg 14-2; Spain-Luxembourg 11-1.

Kazakhstan, Korea and Spain played well and their greater experience showed. Often Susi Benoy, Marc Husi, Karen Wauters and Alex Benoy were close to the points, but extraordinary stones from their opponents brought them back again and again. While the results do not indicate it, they are beginning to read the ice better.

Along with Hong Kong, Luxembourg are making their debut at the World Mixed Championship. A total of 39 countries are taking part, split into 5 pools for the group stages.

On Monday they play against Ireland; the mood in the team is still quite confident.
