On Thursday 5 January 2017 at 19:00, Christine Majerus, a professional cyclist from Luxembourg, will be the special guest at a Meet & Greet being organised at the Salle des Fêtes of the municipality of Sanem (60 rue de la Poste, L-4477 Belvaux)

As part of the UCI World Championship in Cyclo-Cross taking place on 28/29 January 2017 in Belvaux, Luxembourg's Ministry of Equal Opportunities and the Organising Committee of the Bieles 2017 World Cyclo-cross Championships, are holding this event in cooperation with the municipality of Sanem and in the presence of Lydia Mutsch, Minister for Equal Opportunities.

Christine Majerus was chosen as a "sporting lighthouse" for this sporting event of international renown. The Meet & Greet gives young athletes, in particular young female athletes, (and their parents) the opportunity to talk with the cyclist about the different challenges in starting a career in professional sport, including addressing the following issues:

- Reconciliation between education and a sporting career;

- Reconciliation of one's private and professional life in general;

- Life-long career planning;

- Differences between the professional career of a sportsman and a sportswoman;

- Status of professional sport for girls and women in general
