The 33rd annual Charly Gaul cycling event will take place on Sunday 3 September 2023 starting and finishing in Echternach, and taking in the north of the Grand Duchy as well as La Petite Suisse.

Organised by ACC Contern, the 145 km / 100km course (two options available) has three levels: Competition (I want to play for the win), Sports (I hope to do a good ranking) and Leisure (I just want to finish and have fun). It is open to cyclists aged 14+.

The race starts at 09:30 and the short course cyclists are expected to start arriving from 12:15, with those on the long course expected to return from 13:15. The award ceremony is expected to take place at around 15:00. The short course finish is expected to close at 15:00, and that of the long course at around 16:30.

Prior registration is required, up to 31 August; the cost to participate is €28 for Course A (145km) and €23 for Course B (100 km).

The Luxembourg cyclist Charly Gaul was born on 8 December 1932 and died on 6 December 2005. He was one of the best climbers of all time; turned professional in 1953, he won the Tour de France once in 1958 (including six stages) and the Tour of Italy (twice).
