The Škoda Tour de Luxembourg 2023 professional cycling race kicked off on Wednesday 20 September 2023, with the first stage taking participants around Luxembourg City.

New Zealand road and track cyclist Corbin Strong, who currently rides for Israel - Premier Tech, claimed victory in the first stage of the Škoda Tour de Luxembourg, in a sprint ahead of Søren Kragh Andersen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) and Alex Aranburu (Team Movistar).

The 156.4 km route took riders from the Abbaye de Neumünster in Luxembourg-Grund to the finish in Luxembourg-Kirchberg. Corbin Strong managed to take the yellow jersey as overall leader in this first stage, having finished in 03:51:01.

The first Luxembourgish rider to cross the finish line was Alex Kirsch (Lidl-Trek), who finished 8th overall.

Three top riders dropped out of the race in the first stage: Jakob Fuglsang (Israel - Premier Tech), Thibaut Pinot (Groupama-FDJ) and David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ).

The Škoda Tour de Luxembourg will continue with the second stage on Thursday 21 September 2023, taking riders from Mondorf-les-Bains to Mamer.
