Luxembourg Ballet Asbl has announced it is organising performances of The Nutcracker at Château de Vianden on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 December 2023.

The performances, directed and choreographed by Volha Kastsel, will bring together celebrated artists such as Artem Shoshyn, Kateryna Floria, Oleksii Potiomkin and Sofia Binetti alongside children from the Ecole de musique de l’Union Grand-Duc Adolphe for a classic winter tale set against the historic backdrop of Vic. Abens Hall.

Year after year, the Nutcracker ballet brings family joy, Christmas tranquillity and childhood memories and is a widely-known favourite of the holiday season. Originating from the fairy tale by E. T. A. Hoffmann, the Nutcracker embarks on an eventful journey, transformed from a young man into a nutcracker. Facing a seven-headed monster and an army of mice, the Nutcracker navigates a dream world, filled with sugared almonds, lemonade fountains and honey lakes, gingerbread houses and marzipan castles.

The evenings are set to begin with a Crémant reception at 18:00 on Saturday 16 December 2023 and at 16:30 on Sunday 17 December 2023.

Tickets are available for purchase at https://fienta.com/nutcracker. Ticket prices vary based on seating positions, ranging from €50 to €75.
