TWO6TWO restaurant;

The culinary brand, TWO6TWO, has announced that Chef Baptiste Heugens will assume leadership from Julien Elles this month.

Baptiste Heugens was picked due to his ‘passionate, precise and innovative’ personality and approach to the culinary arts. Known for a dramatic style that takes no prisoners and does not suffer fools gladly, Heugens brings with him not only his own fighting spirit, but a motivated young brigade of talented followers as well, equally enthusiastic about challenging the status quo.

Offering fresh cuisine highlighted by simple products and precise detailing, this young chef intends to put his stamp on the local culinary scene. The menu will be ‘clean’ and inspired by a gourmet culinary tradition that is however adapted to new nutritional requirements. The menu will be offered in an elegant, newly redesigned space, flooded with light and welcoming 40 guests from 1 September 2018.

Born in Soignies and a graduate of Ecole Hôtelière de Saint Ghislain, Heugens completed numerous internships in French Gastronomy. Making his way up through the ranks in the major houses of Europe, most notably in Brussels, where he was a clerk for the prestigious l’Ecailler du Palais Royal, he shortly thereafter joined the Sea Grill, 2 Michelin stars, as a clerk which he followed as demi-chef under the direction of Yves Mattagne.

In 2014, he assisted Stéphanie Thunus at the restaurant Au Gré du Vent 1 Michelin star. For nearly a year, Heugens held the position of second at the restaurant TWO6TWO under the direction of Julien Elles. Julien and Catherine have decided to stand on their own feet after 14 years of excellence at the helm of TWO6TWO. Driven by excellence, they have propelled TWO6TWO to the top of the Luxembourg gastronomic scene.
