Luxembourg's Minister of Finance, Pierre Gramegna, will chair the ECOFIN Council taking place in Brussels on Tuesday 8 December 2015.
The Conuncil will deliberate on multiple items on the financial agenda, including enhanced cooperation in the field of tax on financial transactions; the common consolidated corporate tax base (CCCTB); the European system of deposit insurance; base erosion and profit transfer.
The Commission will present the next steps to be taken in the fight against terrorist financing, as well as the annual 2016 review on the procedure for macroeconomic imbalances and the 2016 report on the alert mechanism. The Council will provide a draft recommendation on the implementation of broad economic policies for Member States who form part of the Eurozone.
Minister Pierre Gramegna also attended the Eurogroup meeting held today.
