Consumer confidence witnessed a sharp decline at the end of last year, according to the Central Bank of Luxembourg.

The consumer confidence indicator established by the Central Bank of Luxembourg registered a sharp decline in December 2017, after three consecutive months of increases.

In December, the anxiety among households concerning unemployment in Luxembourg continued to decline, while their expectations regarding the general economic situation in Luxembourg and their own financial situation were significantly less. Likewise, household expectations of their ability to save have dropped significantly.

In sum, all components of the indicator moved adversely last month, with the exception of that of unemployment.
