Of the 20 companies that submitted applications, 16 have been declared eligible for participation in the Luxembourg Digital Skills Bridge programme.

The pilot programme attracted applications from the banking and insurance sectors, industry, logistics and trade sectors. 16 of these applications were declared eligible by the Economic Committee for a total of 535 employees whose positions are transformed or are likely to disappear as part of the digital transformation.

In close collaboration with the ADEM, these employees and their companies will be supported in the transformation of the organisation of work and skills resulting from the technological revolution. The aim is to enable the employees concerned to acquire the skills required to respond to the transformation of the labour market.

Secretary of State for the Economy Francine Closener said: "I am delighted that already many companies have apprehended the anticipatory approach of the pilot project 'Luxembourg Digital Skills Bridge' which aims to support and train employees whose jobs are threatened by digitalisation and to advise them on new opportunities to secure their professional future in a changing world."
