As of today, students of the Luxembourg Baccalaureate have access to free textbooks via the mybooks.lu eShop.

Mandatory textbooks are now free for students in public high schools and private secondary schools following the National Education curriculum (Luxembourg Baccalaureate only). This initiative therefore effectively saves families up to €450 per school year per child, according to classes and educational levels.

As of 23 July 2018, on the mybooks.lu website, students access the online application that allows them to select the mandatory textbooks they want to receive for free when new. Students entitled to this service include: those in general and classical secondary education in Luxembourg public high schools; vocational training classes in Luxembourg public high schools; classes following the Luxembourg public education syllabus in private schools. Pupils in the preparation classes, reception classes, insertion classes for young adults (CLIJA) as well as European and international classes in public schools receive their free textbooks directly in their schools.

The application mybooks.lu is accessible on PCs, smartphones and digital tablets. The student connects to it with their strictly personalised IAM login and accesses the list of mandatory textbooks to which they are entitled. They then select the manuals they want and goes to one of the libraries participating in the mybooks.lu program to receive them.

Finally, the ministry promotes the sustainable and responsible use of textbooks, so if the student uses used textbooks, bought at Bichermaart, for example, they will receive a voucher for school material equivalent to 50% of the price of new textbooks.
