On Tuesday evening, the Republic of Ireland's Ambassador to Luxembourg, Peadar Carpenter, hosted a recption at the Irish Embassy to welcome Judge Colm MacEochaidh who has recently taken up a position at the General Court (Tribunal) at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

Judge MacEochaidh spoke in both Gaelic and in English and thanked the Ambassador for the warm welcome he has received and that he is looking forward to his new job in the Grand Duchy.

Ambassador Carpenter also took advantage of the opportunity to present awards to both Siofra Collins and Aine Hollywood, as the best Irish language students at the European Schools in Kirchberg and Mamer.
