Since 15 September, the small village of Weiler in the municipality of Wincrange has witnessed giant convoys; each week, special transporters have delivered 55m and 68m wings, nacelles and towers for the Oekostroum wind farm in Weiler.
The transporter Adams planned the convoys from their departure from the Siemens factory in Denmark to arrive four days later in Weiler in the Grand Duchy. They pass through Germany and Belgium to arrive via Feitsch and Antoniushof, in Weiler. They are supervised each time by a team of 4 to 5 people and 2 policemen. The weight of the lightest convoy is 16 tons.
For permissions and to ensure the safe transport of the material, the Antoniushof roundabout had to be converted. It is the same crossing as for Café Legay.
The of October 7 is scheduled for a delivery and installation of the largest crane in Europe to erect the wind turbines in Weiler.
