Shopping sustainably can lead even the most committed into a confusing morass of labels, certifications and promises that shed little real light on the merits of the product being bought.
Inspiring More Sustainability Luxembourg (IMS Luxembourg) has sought to redress a little of that balance with the publication of a new guide aimed at those responsible for the purchasing decisions made by communications teams and managers. The guide, “Sustainable Procurement in Communication”, was launched yesterday during a round table hosted by IMS Luxembourg.
Using participatory workshops, IMS identified a number of areas where managers can make decisions that can have impacts on sustainability, including stationery, dematerialisation, choice of suppliers, marketing materials, and responsible event management. The practical guide aims to create a better understanding of procurement issues, how to choose the right communications tools and how to capitalise on good practices.
