Wind-powered energy production will double in Luxembourg following the inauguration of 15 new wind turbines commissioned by Soler S.A. on Friday last during a ceremony attended by Deputy Prime Minister Étienne Schneider and Secretary of State Camilla Gira.

Soler, jointly owned by SEO and Enovos Luxembourg, now operates 42 turbines across seven wind farms in the Grand Duchy, providing green energy to approximately 47,100 households and 188,400 people.

The four new turbines in Rulljen-Geisdref were commissioned in 2016 and can produce 24.9 kWh, equivalent to the annual consumption of about 5,500 households, and representing CO2 savings of about 16,200 tonnes a year.
