Since 1 January 2018, the Troisvierges-based Exe printing company has joined the non-profit organisation myclimate Luxembourg with the aim of minimising carbon emissions from its activity.

In this way, the printing press has committed to producing a carbon footprint on an annual basis to concretely measure the results of its efforts and, at the same time, offset the remaining unavoidable emissions. With the experts of myclimate Luxembourg the principles remain "Avoid - reduce - compensate" and "Do the best and offset the rest"

In a first step, myclimate Luxembourg has made a carbon footprint of the printing business. This carbon inventory takes into account, among other things, manufacturing and transport as well as inks upstream and downstream. As such, the printing press should have a global view of the greenhouse gas emissions emitted from its activities.

In a second step, the printing press has acquired computer analysis tools that enable it to calculate CO2 emissions for each of its corresponding productions. Consequently, it can determine the quantities of carbon dioxide emitted for each of its services and propose to its customers to invest in projects that contribute to a measurable protection of the climate as well as to sustainable development.

As compensation, myclimate Luxembourg will invest the funds raised in myclimate projects that contribute to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN, including the fight against climate change.
