Luxembourg's Ministry of Mobility and Public Works and the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Biodiversity have provided a status update on the Bascharage bypass construction project.

On Monday 22 April 2024, representatives of the two ministries met a delegation from the municipality of Sanem and members of its "Bypass" working group.

The main objective of the meeting, according to the ministries, was to address the current status of the project relating to the bypass around Bascharage. The stakeholders exchanged "transparently" on the compensation measures envisaged in order to minimise the environmental impact. Likewise, they shared information on the continuation of the procedure following the law of 29 May 2009 concerning the assessment of the impact on the human and natural environment of certain road, rail and airport projects.

The ministries added that members of the public will be able to read this file in the four municipalities concerned, from Thursday 25 April until Friday 24 May 2024 inclusive.

The project aims to help facilitate traffic flow in the area around Bascharage and Sanem.
